From Joël & Ana( Married April 30th, 2020)
Our love story starts in December 2018. I decided to take a chance and sign up to Mexican Cupid in looking for my soulmate. I wrote up my profile as specific as I could, writing exactly the kind of woman I wanted to meet; someone beautiful, kind, active, motivated, intelligent, with good values. I also indicated things I admired in women such as performing arts.
After about 1 week, I came across Ana’s profile. As I read it, I couldn’t believe my eyes. She was everything I wanted. I responded politely yet frankly about my interest in her. I crossed my fingers hoping that she would respond as I knew she had likely received dozens upon dozens of messages.
The next day, I opened my inbox and my heart about jumped out of my chest seeing that she had responded!! Our communication started and we never looked back. I discovered an amazing woman by using whatsapp messaging and video chatting. Our first video chat lasted 7 hours!!! It was quite the ride.
We had to wait 4 months to meet because of our jobs, but finally in April she made the trip here to Canada to visit for 12 days. The minute I laid eyes on her in person when she stepped out of the gates at the airport my heart was racing, yet I had a calmness. She looked stunning. We had immediate chemistry as we hoped and had our first magical kiss right there.
During the 12 days, we visited family, enjoyed quiet nights at home, cooked together and things seemed so natural. There were really no hesitations that we wanted to be together. After the 12 days, Ana went back to Mexico, and we started planning her move here as a visitor. She moved here with me in July and her daughter was able to accompany her. It took only a few days before she became my kids’ new sister and suddenly we had a family in the making! In December 2019, while on a trip in beautiful Merida, Mexico we were engaged and married in April 2020.
I could write pages about our journey from there but in short form, our relationship has continued to grow. We have our little ups and downs like any couple, but love conquers all. Thank You Mexican Cupid for helping us find our soulmates!!! As Ana says:
« Don’t lose faith in love. It can happen if you open your mind and heart. »
