After several years of disappointments, my frustrations with American women had risen to a point where I stopped dating all together. I was tired of women who were overly concerned with material things and how much money I make. Tired of women who were not concerned with who I am and what type of person I am. For almost two years, I did not have a date. I spent the time praying about my future, my desire to be married, and the one woman whom I will spend the rest of my life with.

Late in 2007 I found MexicanCupid and began to browse profiles. I had heard many stories of how Mexican women are beautiful, loving, traditional, faithful, and family oriented. After a couple of months and contacting several women, I found a profile that piqued my interest. Our profiles showed quite a few similarities, and common interests. I emailed Yolanda at the end of January 2008. With each email we exchanged our interest in each other grew. We began to have a nightly instant messenger date through the IM feature of MexicanCupid. We exchanged pictures and addresses, too. In March of 2008, I traveled to meet Yolanda. Our first meeting was at a restaurant in her hometown of Reynosa, Mexico. In person, she was even more beautiful than her pictures had shown! After several days of exploring Reynosa and several places in south Texas, we parted with the excitement of a new relationship.

Since March of 2008, we have met on six different occasions, and we have only missed 5 or 6 nightly dates. We have met in Reynosa / South Texas and she has visited me in my hometown of Conroe, Texas. My daughters have spent a total of two weeks with her and they LOVE her!!!! In March of 2009, exactly one year to the day of our first meeting, I proposed to Yolanda, on one knee and in Spanish. She said, “Si, Si, Si, Si, Si, Si”.

We are in the process of filing for her fiancee’ visa and planning our wedding. We will be married as soon as she has the visa.
