My name I Alan. I am NOT here to collect a bunch of names, NOR am I here to have my ego inflated with a bunch of cheap flattery, or waste time with useless banter. I don't have a stereotypical "type", but hope that anyone who writes me, will have considered who I am as a person. I am a born again and spirit filled christian gentleman with old fashioned values of integrity, honesty, hard work, morals and ethics. Over the course of this profile, I will attempt to describe myself accurately and with enough detail that you should be able to get a idea of who I am (my personality, interests, what is important to me etc), and decide if we are truly "compatible". Thanks for reading and best wishes in your search. I am first and foremost a full time dad to my 9 year old energetic, athletic, intelligent and extremely well mannered loving boy, who I encourage each and everyday to look to Jesus, just as I do! I have been blessed with loving parents that have helped me become the man I am today. They instilled values in me that have helped me tremendously in raising my son that I have almost full time (80%). He is probably the greatest blessing in my life as he brings so much joy into my life, as he does with anyone else that has the opportunity to meet him. My hobbies and interests are quite diverse as I began playing guitar at 5 and began singing at 12- winning scholarships at 19 and 20 for both. I enjoy cooking, which is a good thing considering how much I like to eat. I am university educated and I enjoy my life, but would also enjoy sharing it with someone special. Having grown up as a late bloomer, I was bullied so worked hard at martial arts and body building to get to the point I am at now. Occasionally I still take on clients for personal training, but I reserve most of my free time for my family...particularly my parents who own/operate a 300 acre ranch/ bed and breakfast . There I taught myself how to build log furniture and spent many hours riding horses and rounding up the cattle (I am no stranger to hard work). I currently am training my homozygous paint mare in natural horsemanship methods. When I am not working, I enjoy a round of golf but having played semi-pro baseball in Washington state during my earlier years really messed up my golf swing. Water sports, fishing/ice fishing, boating, and other physical activity are things I enjoy. I still spend lots of time in Washington, particularly Anacortes where I visit my best friend of 35 years regularly. Some accomplishments: I founded the first greek system and fraternity at my university, while also being a member of the university student council and playing on the varsity baseball team, only to retire and take on an assistant coach position. Taking spanish in university helped me greatly when I was in Cuba and almost got arrested at the airport for not having the correct paperwork (yikes....). I started with a double major in history and mathematics but got bored with math (after scoring 98.7% and skipping more classes than I attended) so switched to a minor in political science. I like to try new things and enjoy the challenges faced in those new things (whether it be building something, or moving to a new part of the world)...fortunately I embrace change well! Some interesting facts....I have broken 27 bones over the years....I played hard. Go big or go home was my motto. I am allergic to mushrooms (mind you, I can't imagine anyone enjoying fungus to begin with). I have an electric guitar and a 12 string. I have a 138 IQ! Musical taste varies from Elvis to the Gaithers Gospel, ZZ Top to 80's rock, old and new country (as long as it is upbeat), Colin James, Beach Boys, some hip hop and R&B. I am hoping to do a Gaither music cruise ...any one care to join me? I was an electrician with aspirations of starting my own company, but due to being rear ended and sustaining a major concussion nearly 4 years ago, I am forced to re-evaluate things. Although I suffer from headaches and dizziness, I see the benefit of having more time at home with my son. I fully give Jesus credit for all that I am and have in my life....I like Tim Tebow as an example of a humble and compassionate Christian.....I also like President Trump as a leader! I am yielded to Jesus. I don't get caught up in legalism or the Christian-ese talk. Just from the heart as the Holy Spirit leads. I believe as the scripture says....you will know them by their fruit and Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control. another Romans 14:23, "Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin." Hebrews 11:6 says, "Without faith it is impossible to please him." and 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 1 john 1,2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. I love this scripture because it references JESUS as the Word! I have a few other favorite scriptures also...lets talk about them. until then, have a glorious day. Sincerely, Alan Laye.

young at heart and flexible of mind and body, i am born in the year of the snake, and have a fiery disposition, vegan by nature, i like raw fruits but am not an absolutist and enjoy the company of diverse people. i prefer quality over quantity, and endeavor to do well in all my undertakings. i am a natural man and prefer naturalness in a woman, i am looking for some permanence in a relationship as i slow down the pace of life, preferably with a life partner for my remaining years. a possible sailing lifestyle seems attractive with travel to the gulf islands, and around the salish sea. in winter, warmer climes such as hawaii, mexico, new zealand, costa rica, etc. for now i prefer to keep my feet on the ground, i like to read to pass time and write poems, i enjoy silence, bicycling, yog exercises, frisbee, chess, badminton, meditation, the beach, free form tai chi, natural photography, a good movie at home, preparing good healthy meals, working in the garden. my interests include computers and electronic technology as well as their application to human well being, bio-ceramics, all manner of ethical scientific inquiry. personally i have my eye on a small organic farm and would like to develop a healing retreat for myself and visitors. although i follow no formal religion, i find non-violence attractive. i have written a short dissertation called "life lessons" and make it freely available.
